Justin has been working in financial services for over 20 years. He is a passionate proponent of the value of architectural thinking generally and the transformative role of architects in particular. In addition to his experience as a banking chief architect on three continents he has also had roles ranging from product development, venture capital investment, consulting and mobile banking. His current area of focus is DevOps, cloud API architectures and applying agile and lean startup practices to large enterprises.
Jez is co-author of the Jolt Award winning Continuous Delivery, published in Martin Fowler’s Signature Series (Addison Wesley, 2010), and the forthcoming Lean Enterprise, in Eric Ries’ Lean series. He has worked as a software developer, product manager, consultant and trainer across a wide variety of domains and technologies. His focus is on helping organisations deliver valuable, high-quality software frequently and reliably through implementing effective engineering practices.
Rachel joined Ignition as a principal in 2013 after a long career as a technology analyst and journalist, including 13 years at the 451 Group analyst firm. A noted author and speaker on enterprise-IT topics, she specializes in studying software companies solving complicated and urgent business problems.
Jeff is passionate about new ideas and innovative approaches to solving business problems with optimal technology solutions. His sixteen-year career covers a broad spectrum of industries including healthcare, weather forecasting, financial services, and retail – where he is currently a key infrastructure leader at Target Corporation. Jeff has led a number of different enterprise-scale technology initiatives over the years, and now leads the Infrastructure Strategy & Architecture group at Target, driving the adoption of emerging technologies and processes. Jeff embraces new ideas in his personal life as well, fueling his passion for continuous learning with advanced degrees in Computer Science, and Security Analysis & Portfolio Management. He is also an accomplished home brewer. Jeff lives in Minnesota with his wife, Kristi, and their four sons Aidan, Lance, Wyatt, and Trystan.
Gene Kim is a multiple award winning CTO, researcher and author. He was founder and CTO of Tripwire for 13 years. He has written three books, including “The Phoenix Project: A Novel About IT, DevOps, and Helping Your Business Win" and “The Visible Ops Handbook.” Gene is a huge fan of IT operations, and how it can enable developers to maximize throughput of features from “code complete” to “in production,” without causing chaos and disruption to the IT environment. He has worked with some of the top Internet companies on improving deployment flow and increasing the rigor around IT operational processes. Gene lives in Portland, Oregon.
